Chiropractic Care

A chiropractic adjustment is defined as a high velocity, low amplitude thrust into a joint to help decrease pain and increase range of motion. Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (CMT) is not only utilized in the spine, but also in the extremities (hips, shoulders, ankles, wrists).

Physical Rehabiliation is utilized to increase range of motion, stability, strength and proprioception through a combination of neuromuscular and therapeutic exercises. Rehabilitation is a very important part of the recovery process and key in injury prevention that is often overlooked.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Soft tissue mobilization is utilized through many hands-on Myofascial Release Techniques to increase range of motion and to decrease pain, swelling, muscle soreness, tension, and knots.

Functional Movement Taping

I am Rocktape Functional Movement Taping Levels 1 and 2 certified. This technique helps to facilitate muscles during activity, support the joint without restricting range of motion, and to decrease swelling and appearance of bruises.

Pain Management

Through the use of a combination of services, therapeutic modalities are also used to help with pain management.

Ultrasound is utilized to provide deep soft tissue heating to promote tissue healing. These tissues include muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.

Electric stimulation sends a current through portions of the body to decrease pain and inflammation, improve circulation, and it can help your muscles contract properly.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is not Acupuncture, a practice based on traditional Chinese medicine. Dry needling uses thin filiform needles that penetrates the skin and stimulates underlying myofascial trigger points and muscular and connective tissues. The needle allows us to target tissues that are not manually palpable. Dry needling is used with the goal of releasing or inactivating trigger points to relieve pain and improve range of motion. Dry needling improves pain control, reduces muscle tension, and normalizes dysfunctions of the nerve impulses to help speed up the patient's return to active rehabilitation.

Perinatal Chiropractic Care

During pregnancy, a woman's spine moves differently than it does when she is not pregnant. Therefore, it is essential to use a specialized technique suitable for a pregnant woman's constantly changing pelvis. A Webster-certified chiropractor ensures the proper movement of the sacrum, muscles, and ligaments surrounding the uterus. This gentle technique helps balance the rapidly changing structures throughout the pregnancy, improving comfort and nervous system communication and decreasing labor times. Using the Webster Technique, fewer interventions may be requested during labor and birth, and favorable birth outcomes for both the mother and baby are more likely to occur.
